KitchenAid KRMF436S Dispenser Freezer Service

The KRMF436S, also sold as the KRMF436SBE, KRMF436SJP and KRMF436SPS, is a 39-inch bottom-freezer refrigerator with 28.9 cu. ft. of total capacity and a dispenser in the door. Its standard-depth cabinet projects past neighboring counters, so there is usually room for us to slide it out for service.
The most common call is water. If it appears under the crispers or spreads across the floor, the defrost drain is blocked or frozen solid. We clear it and then check why it iced, since a weak heater may be the reason. We also look at the pan below the cabinet.
The dispenser needs ice, and an ice maker that fails to fill or harvest means the water path and module are tested one at a time. We keep an eye out for lost refrigerant too, since that single finding decides whether a cabinet is worth keeping. We quote in writing before anything starts, with a 30-day workmanship warranty on the repair.
The defrost drain, either blocked or frozen. We clear it, run water through to be sure it flows, and test the heater to learn why the drain iced.
The ice maker module and its fill. If the bin is empty, we watch a full cycle to see whether the tray fills and whether it releases the cubes.
If it runs constantly without getting properly cold, it can. We run a sealed-system test and explain the finding and options plainly before any decision about repair is made.
