KitchenAid KEBK276B Thermal Oven Service

The KEBK276B is a 27-inch single thermal wall oven with 4.3 cu. ft. of capacity, two oven racks, EvenHeat technology and halogen lighting. It is also sold as the KEBK276BBL and KEBK276BSS. A single oven this size is often a kitchen’s main oven, so a repair needs to be quick.
Without a convection fan, the oven depends on its bake and broil elements and a temperature sensor that tells the control when to cycle them. If baking times keep stretching, we measure the cavity temperature and see whether the element is weak or the sensor reads high. A door hinge that has loosened can also let heat out at the top and change the result.
Halogen lighting is the last thing we check, since a bad socket is cheap to fix. We quote in writing before any part is ordered, and the 30-day workmanship warranty covers the repair.
A weak bake element or a sensor that reads too high makes the oven shut the heat off early. We measure the cavity with a thermometer, and replace the element or sensor that is out of range.
The size does not change it. Worn hinges let the door sag slightly, so heat leaks along the top edge. We tighten or replace the hinge parts and confirm the door seals evenly.
A loose bulb, corroded socket or a failing lamp transformer can cause it. We start by reseating the bulb, then test the socket, and replace the part that does not hold steady voltage.
