On KitchenAid built-in refrigerators (KBSD, KBFN, KBBL, KBBR), French door bottom-freezer models (KRFC, KRMF, KRFF) and side-by-sides (KRSF, KRSC), such as the KBSD608ESS and KRFC704FPS, PO is the Power Outage indicator. It shows when the power was off and the freezer rose to 18°F (-8°C) or higher. A tone sounds 3 times and Confirm blinks until acknowledged under MEASURED FILL. On built-ins, PO flashes, a red icon appears and other functions wait for confirmation.
1. Check food in the freezer for thawing before you decide what to keep. 2. Press MEASURED FILL under Confirm to acknowledge the outage. 3. Check that the cord is plugged in and the breaker is on. 4. Let the refrigerator recover and keep doors closed. 5. If PO returns without a power interruption, call us.
It is the Power Outage indicator. The power was off and the freezer rose to 18°F (-8°C) or higher, so the refrigerator tells you to check your food.
On built-in models, PO flashes with a red Power Outage icon and other functions are disabled until the alert is confirmed. Press MEASURED FILL under Confirm to acknowledge it.
Inspect it for thawing before you refreeze or eat anything. If PO appears when the power has been steady, call us so we can look at why it was triggered.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
