On KitchenAid KUWR undercounter wine cellars, such as the KUWR214KSB, KUWR314KSS and KUWR304ESS, Over Temp means a zone has run warmer than it should. The alert sounds and shows if either zone rises above its preset range for 10 minutes, and some units alert at above 70°F (21°C) for 4 hours or longer. The light flashes until Reset Alarm is pressed, and the alert comes back every 4 hours while the cellar is still over range.
1. Close the door fully and check that no bottle blocks the seal. 2. Press Reset Alarm to silence the alert. 3. Give the cellar a few hours to settle, away from heat sources. 4. Clean the grille at the front of the unit so air can move. 5. If the alert returns, move valuable bottles somewhere cool and call us.
On these wine cellars it alerts when either zone stays above the preset range for 10 minutes, and some units trigger at above 70°F (21°C) for 4 hours or longer. Check the label on your unit.
After Reset Alarm is pressed, the alert reactivates every 4 hours while the cellar is still over range. A repeat means the temperature has not come back down.
Prolonged warmth can affect wine, so move valuable bottles to a cool place if the alert will not clear. Then call us and we will find out why the cellar is running warm.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
