Cooktop Repair in Houston

Cooktops in the KitchenAid line include gas models with sealed burners, radiant electric surfaces, and induction units that heat cookware directly with magnetic fields. All install into the counter and rely on a cutout, a power or gas connection and a ventilation plan from the hood above.

Gas cooktops in Houston homes run for years, but they collect boil-overs. A small spill that dries on the igniter or fills a burner port can prevent lighting or throw an uneven flame. Electric and induction surfaces fare better with spills but are sensitive to humidity and power fluctuations after storms, which can upset the control board.

We start with a clean and a close look at burner parts and connections, then test igniters, switches, elements or coils depending on your cooktop. Any part needed is priced for you in writing first.

05Cooktop questions
Why does my burner keep clicking?

Spilled food around the igniter, a wet burner cap or a misplaced burner head keeps the spark going. Cleaning and reseating the burner often stops it. If not, the igniter or the switch may need attention.

Do induction cooktops need special pots?

Yes. Induction works with cookware a magnet will stick to. If a zone seems dead, try a different pan before assuming the cooktop has a problem. If it still fails, we test the coil and generator.

Can a cracked glass cooktop be repaired?

Cracked glass generally needs a new surface, and we do not recommend cooking on it, since liquid can reach the electronics underneath. We replace the surface or discuss a new cooktop with you.
